There is excellent progress being made on the Nursemaids’ Tunnel works. The wall on the southern side (Park Crescent) has now been completely rebuilt and the final pointing is being completed. The new concrete retaining wall on the north side (Park Square) has been built and the team have started the first few courses of brick work. The internal cleaning of the tunnel and Watchman’s box is now complete and all electric feeds installed. The approach ramp on the south has had the tarmac removed and levelled.
The next steps will be to install all the new drainage and start the repairs to the head walls.
There will be further updates towards the mid/end of December 23.
