Dear Residents
As you will all be aware, the refurbishment of the Chester Terrace balustrade is due to commence soon. Whilst we are yet to receive the full construction method and phase plan, we are hopeful that work will start early September 2025 and take somewhere in the region of 46 weeks to complete. We are aware that this will cause disruption and apologise in advance.
The purpose of this newsletter is to give residents advance notification of alternative parking whilst the work takes place.
We have been advised that during this period, whilst Chester Terrace will remain open, vehicles will not be able to park on the terrace. This is to assist in the work and to protect residents’ vehicles. This decision will be reviewed regularly with the contractor and the CEPC and will be subject to risk assessment impact. Should the arrangement change, all residents will be notified.
Where possible, we ask that property garages are used to house vehicles. Where this is not possible, you will be authorised to park at the rear of your property providing you do not block other residents access to their property or cause obstructions to other vehicles passing through. You will only be able to park at the rear of your own property and will need to display your CEPC parking permit relating to the vehicle. Numbers 35 – 42 Chester Terrace can park in Cumberland Terrace providing vehicles are displaying a resident parking permit relating to the vehicle. Temporary permits will not be issued for extra vehicles to park in Cumberland Terrace.
During this period, extra temporary permits and visitor scratchcards will be restricted and only issued if the vehicle displaying them is parked at the rear of your property adhering to the same conditions as above. Due to the vehicles already registered at Chester Terrace, it is unlikely that any further temporary permits will be issued. If you currently have a temporary permit, please look to make alternative arrangements as soon as possible.
The Crown Estate have access to approximately 12 secure garage units at Silsoe House, Park Village East. These units do incur a fee which should be discussed directly with The Crown Estate. Please contact sarah.soanes@thecrownestate.co.uk should you wish to enquire about these units. I have attached a map detailing the location of the garages in relation to Chester Terrace.

Should you have any parking related questions, please contact martyn.floodgate@cepc.org.uk or call on 07341560627.
The CEPC apologise for any inconvenience that this causes.
Kind Regards
The CEPC Team
